Roses and Raindrops
Sparkling with diamond drops, roses and raindrops flatter the beauty of each other.
This gorgeous rose bloom is a hybrid tea rose named, Tropicana. It was first introduced in 1962 and was an AARS winner in 1963. It blossoms in huge, cup-shaped blossoms that open up into a brilliant orange-red color. It has a heavy, fruity scent and produces an incredible abundance of flowers that hold their color in the hottest weather and their scent for a week after cutting.
The rose is actually considered a woody perennial of the genus Rosa. There are over 100 species and exhibit several forms including, miniature shrubs, erect shrubs and climbers that reach 7 meters in length. The flowers have a variety of shapes and sizes and are usually quite showy. The colors range from shades of white, through yellows, oranges, pinks, reds and the newer purples. Cultivars and hybrids are cultivated for their beauty and fragrance. Most roses are deciduous, with serrated leav...
Creating portals of light, love, joy, beauty, compassion, hope and gratitude is my lifelong passion and purpose. My mother painted when i was young and encouraged drawing and painting and handcrafting in all forms and my father, the photographer, gave me my first camera at age 8. As a result, i have been a lifelong student of both mediums. Formal training of my eye and technique has been with the wonderful Pacific NW painter teachers, Stan Capon and Edi Olson. i hope you will enjoy these images as much as i enjoyed their creation.
