Description
The Deep Space Impressions 1 image is a poured painting that explores the ideas of flow, color and light inspired by the great natural rhythms of Nature. The poured painting technique used here is a combination of acrylic paint, silicone, water and a paint extender. It was so fun to see the results and the image reminded me of the images of outer space brought back by the Hubble spacecraft.
The Hubble Space Telescope, the largest and most versatile space telescope, was launched into space in 1990. Because it orbited outside of the Earth’s atmosphere, it was able to record extremely high-resolution images that allowed us a deep view into space and time for the first time. The Hubble telescope is still operating and is estimated to last until 2030-2040.
Ancient wisdom says that when we connect with Nature, we also connect with each other, with inspiration, beauty, gratitude, love, joy and hope. When we connect with nature, we connect more deeply and harmoniously with the great natural rhythms that lead to a balanced life. When we connect with Nature, we honor ourselves and we begin to see with the eyes of our souls. When we connect with Nature, we find our own path to Spirit.
Abstract artists work with color, shape, texture, form and line to compose a piece that is more or less independent of actual visual, reference points in the physical world. This form of visual experience and expression of the artist, without obvious representation, allows the viewer to make their own interpretation and meaning. There are various levels of abstraction. Total abstraction, as in the painting, Dreamscape, offers no reference to any recognizable object. The merit then is left to the viewer.

Creating portals of light, love, joy, beauty, compassion, hope and gratitude is my lifelong passion and gift for the earth, hence the name of my art business, For the Earth. My mother painted in oils when I was young and encouraged my own drawing, painting and handcrafting in all forms. My father, the photographer, gave me my first camera at age 8. As a result of these loving influences, I am a lifelong student of both mediums. I am grateful to my wonderful Pacific NW painter teachers, Stan Capon and Edi Olson, for training my eye and technique. I hope you will enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed its creation.
